Who is responsible

What I collect, and why
When you contact me — your name, business name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your current website address. I need these to reply to you and to build the thing you asked for.
When you become a customer — the same, plus whatever you send me to put on your site: text, logos, photographs, opening hours, prices, staff names. That material is yours; I hold it in order to publish it for you.
When you pay — your billing name, billing address, and the last four digits and expiry of your card, all of which come to me from Stripe. I do not receive your full card number.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Upkeep Sites never sees or stores your card details.
Who else sees it
Stripe, to take payments and to hold the card details I never see. Stripe is the payment processor and handles that information under its own privacy policy.
SiteSpark, which hosts the websites I build and serves them to your visitors.
Zoho, which provides my email, and so carries any message you send me.
That is the whole list. I do not sell your information, I do not rent it, and I do not hand it to advertisers or data brokers. If I am ever legally required to disclose something, I will tell you unless I am forbidden from doing so.
This website and cookies
This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no third-party tracking or advertising pixels.
It does record a simple page view — which page was opened, and on which site — sent to the hosting platform so I can see which pages get read. It is not tied to your name and is not used to follow you anywhere else. If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal, that page view is not recorded at all.
Standard server logs, including IP addresses, are kept by the hosting platform for security and troubleshooting.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that do not become customers: deleted within twelve months.
Customer material and correspondence: kept while you are a customer, and for twelve months after you leave, in case you come back or need something recovered.
Billing and tax records: kept for seven years, because tax law requires it. These cannot be deleted on request.
Getting your information, or deleting it
Email david@upkeepsites.com and ask. You can ask for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. I will reply within 30 days, and I will not charge you or make it difficult.
The only things I cannot delete on request are the billing and tax records described above.
Children
This is a service sold to businesses. It is not directed at children and I do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 13. If a photograph you send me shows a child, tell me, and I will confirm you have permission before it goes on a public page.
If this policy changes I will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
